Before your first appointment, you will be asked to complete a comprehensive health intake questionnaire and diet journal. You will be asked to bring these forms as well as any available laboratory or diagnostic results from your medical doctor to the first appointment.
The first appointment is 90 minutes long. It includes an extensive medical history interview, a physical examination and possibly a Chinese tongue and pulse diagnosis. It may also include other diagnostic procedures as required. Physical, mental and emotional factors, as well as any contributing factors in lifestyle, habits and attitudes are considered. If further specialized testing is required, it will be suggested at this time. The primary aim is for the clinician to gain a thorough understanding of your condition in order to facilitate the development of a personalized treatment plan. Patient input is considered in the creation of the treatment plan.
Follow-up appointments are typically 30 to 45 minutes long and involve monitoring and adjusting the treatment plan.
